Dr. Jackson is a triple Board-certified physician by the American Board of Pathology in Anatomic, Clinical, and Forensic Pathology. She serves as the past President of the Society of Black Pathology and an Editor for WIREs Forensic Science.
Dr. Jackson studies death for a living. In doing so, she has learned of our discomfort with and unpreparedness for death and wants to increase conversations around the value that analyzing death can bring to the living.
She also recognizes the difference between what forensic pathologists do, how television and Hollywood portray us, and what the general public thinks we do and who we are, and hopes to help fill that gap.
Her interests include deaths in vulnerable populations, medical education, quality improvement, mentoring, community outreach, advocacy, and diversifying healthcare, inclusive of death care.
Dr. Jackson lives and works in the Pacific Northwestern United States. She is the Principal of Beyond the Table, P.L.L.C., and is available for writing and speaking engagements, forensic pathology contract services, and expert medical-legal consultation and testimony.
